Volvo

“I roll” is Volvo’s equivalent translation from Latin. In keeping with the name, the brand's first vehicle rolled off the assembly line in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 1927: the ÖV4 was an open car with a four-cylinder engine. In 1999, the Volvo Group, which also builds trucks and buses under this name, sold the passenger car division to the Ford Motor Company. Since 2010, Volvo cars have belonged to the Chinese Geely Group.
